Pittsburgh Steelers Name Captains
Today The Pittsburgh Steelers Team players voted for team captains today and the captains are running back Najee Harris and quarterback Mitch Trubisky on offense, defensive tackle Cameron Heyward and linebacker T.J. Watt on defense and safety Miles Killebrew on special teams. Still no word on the starting quarterback for Sunday, but it seems obvious that it will most likely be Mitch Trubisky. Coach Tomlin will speak to the media during a Tuesday press conference. Will we get an announcement then? We will wait and see. The Steelers also signed Safety Andrew Adams, Cornerback Josh Johnson and Delontae Scott to the practice squad.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been adding players to the practice squad this week. The practice squad is an important part of the team as it provides additional players for practice and players who know the playbook as replacements when players on the roster are injured or out. During practice the practice squad helps the team prepare for an upcoming game. Since there is no minor league in The NFL the practice squad also serves as a way for inexperienced players to learn and grow so that they may possibly one day be promoted to the regular roster.
