Events Happening This Weekend
This years Ethnic Food Festival & Craft Show is happening Saturday Jun 9th from 9am until 3pm in Downtown Irwin. We stopped down last year and had a great time enjoying music, food and of course lots of handmade and collectable crafts.
Also this Saturday, The Norwin Elks will be hosting a Flag Day Ceremony at their lodge in Irwin. Join the Norwin Elks, the Penn Trafford Community Band, the Scouts and Elected Dignitaries in honoring our flag.The ceremony highlights our Flag’s History. In the ceremony they will present eight flags, from the Pine Tree Flag of 1775 all the way through to our current 50-star flag. Each flag will be presented by the Scouts with music by the Penn Trafford Community Band.
Jefferson Hills Community Day will take place on Saturday June 9th from 12pm until 10pm with Youth Baseball Games, Vendor Booths, Kids Bounce House’ Concert Performances, Food, Face Painting and Fireworks.
On Sunday June 10th The State Champion Norwin Lady Knights Girls Soccer Club will be hosting a car Show at Norwin Middle School from 10am to 3pm. The show competition will consist of 32 classes with three trophies for each. The classes include cars, trucks and motorcycles. According to the information shared with us, there will be a dj and lots of great food.
Kids’ Day in Schenley Plaza 12pm to 4pm. for free activities for children (and children at heart) under the tent including face painting, a balloon artist, lawn games, special guests and performers, free rides on the PNC Carousel, and an opportunity to experience Uber’s self-driving car.
