Pittsburgh Steelers will Host The annual Family Fest

This evening at Heinz Field The Pittsburgh Steelers will host The annual Family Fest. Family Fest is an opportunity for players to practice at Heinz Field as well as a great opportunity for fans to show their support for the team.  The Gates open at 5:30pm and Practice begins at 6:30pm. As early as 4pm activities will take place outside of the stadium. Tickets are $10

This weekend has been an opportunity for The Pittsburgh Steelers to work with officials on the field. Coach Tomlin told us that the new replay rule will “not affect how we work”. Coach Tomlin believes that the majority of calls are officiated well in realtime versus playback.  He says it has been a nice weekend working with officials.

When asked about Ben Rothlisberger’s participation on the practice field, Coach Tomlin tells us that “We are just creating more opportunities for guys like Mason Rudolph and then Josh Dobbs. He went on to say “We’ve seen Ben enough in two minutes.” There will always be competition for the the number two spot on the depth chart and this pre-season is an opportunity to continue to evaluate those guys. When talking about competition at tight end coach told us that we are still early in the process and that we all know he does like Vance McDonald. Lots to see tonight at Heinz Field for the family fest practice. Look forward to our Family fest practice coverage on our show Monday. Thanks for watching.
