More than 500 Pittsburghers came together this month to support Crisis Center North at the 12th Annual Cocktails & Cuisine

Welcome to Steel City News. More than 500 Pittsburghers came together this month to support Crisis Center North at the 12th Annual Cocktails & Cuisine at the Woodlands Foundation, North Hills. The mission of Crisis Center North is to empower victims of domestic violence and cultivate attitudes and community behaviors that break the cycle of violence.  We attended the event and got a chance to learn more about the center.

It was a beautiful evening emceed by WPXI’s Peggy Finnegan. The event was filled with food, deserts, craft beer, wine tasting, auctions and entertainment. Having judged cooking competitions myself, I can tell you that this panel of judges had no easy task as these chefs all did an outstanding job. The competition results were, Judge’s Choice Bonefish Grill. Best Dessert was declared a tie between JT’s Bakery and Café and Tin Man Sweets. And Blue North Restaurant was selected as The People’s Choice winner. This year’s event was the most successful fundraising event ever for Crisis Center North and preliminary estimates indicate that this year’s event raised more than $100,000 for victims of domestic violence. Thanks for watching.
