Local Navy Veteran Beating the Odds, walks in Brentwood 5K.
We spoke to Todd while in the race at The Brentwood Firecracker 5K this past Wednesday.

Beating the odds, A local Navy veteran with 27 years of service, Todd McIntyre walked in The 2018 Brentwood Firecracker parade on Wednesday July 4th. 3 years ago In June of 2015 Todd suffered a stroke and spent 46 days in a coma and then in locked-in syndrome, a condition where one has awareness, but is unable to move or communicate. At first Todds family was told that he would not survive and then they were told he would be in a vegetative state the rest of his life. With hope, determination and the support of his family, friends and community Todd is defying the odds. Before the stroke and by the age of 50 Todd has completed 75 Triathlons’ with 6 of them being Iron Man Triathlons and has competed in more than 30 marathons with 6 of them being The Boston Marathon. Here is Todd as we caught up with him at the Brentwood Firecracker 5K.
