(InSight) lander is now safely sitting on the Red Planet Mars

(InSight) lander is now safely sitting on the Red Planet Mars after a trip that took close to seven-months, 300-million-mile (458-million-kilometer) from Earth. Insight will study deep below the Martian surface. We know a lot about the surface of Planet Mars but what is going on under the surface is still a mystery. This two year mission hopes to shed some light onto the inside of mars as well as how the planet was formed. This is a very exciting event as all space missions carry with them lots of risk but with rewards that make it all worth it.
